Company logo is the first thing that customers will notice! Here are some tips on how to make one:

Simplicity

First, decide how you will use the logo – for the company, service or product, and whether you will use the name and icon or just the name. Avoid using just icon unless your company already has an image.

Explore

To stimulate your creativity, compile a list of existing logos and bundle them into competitive, industrial, those you like and those you do not like. After you finish the list, save it. yAgain, the view on Check this list again when you are finished with the design to see the way in which you apart from the competition.

Design in black and white

Use black and white technique to focus on the appearance, shape and size. You can easily add a color to your design, but the reverse is much more difficult – and your logo should look good black and white for photocopying and faxing.

Company name

Make sure the company name is clearly visible on the log. If you your potential customers can not read it, how will they get to you?

Color

Choose two colors – it is the most economical option for printing. The color you see on your monitor is not always the same as what you get on printing. If you can, borrow a book woth the color patterns and use it to select a color. Do not worry if the color does not look good on your monitor, in printed version it will be the same as in the book.

Typography

Use a maximum of two types of typography and be careful when choosing a style. The so-called “Old English” style to fit the traditional antique store while “Avant Garde” or “Optima” correspond to modern companies for interior design. Pay attention to the suitability, but do not be too predictable.

Size

Your logo must be readable in multiple sizes – test readability by reducing text to the minimum size you plan to use.

Step back

When you are done with the design of the logo, save it. Will you like it after a week? If not, go back to the drawing board. Taking a break will give you a chance to make your design eye rested. Mistakes in the preparation could cost you.

Avoid clipart

No matter how tempting it is, avoid the clipart, you’ll look like an amateur! If you can’t design a logo by yourself, hire a professional.

Test your logo

Test your new logo on a variety of materials and media you plan to use, for example on letterheads, business cards, brochures and so on. If you own a truck or car where you plan to put the logo, take a photograph of them with the computer and check how the logo will look on them.

It is very important that you take the time you need to createlogo, because there is no second chance to make a first impression. Logos are more than just a stamp on a page, they embody the whole meaning behind your product.
