Banner advertising is a standard method of advertising on the Internet. Online advertising is completely statistically measurable, that is one of the reasons why online advertising in the world has witnessed a significant growth – the Internet is the fastest growing marketing medium in the world.
Banner image ad that is a direct link to the advertiser’s website. The main advantages of banner over other forms of advertising:

Today banners are significant progressed even though they exist only fifteen years. In addition that they have become animated (initially used GIF animation), have changed and their dimensions. Unified banner dimensions are extremely important because for each dimension you should make a special banner. If every medium had its dimensions, there would be chaos, so there is an organization: Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) that issued the list of standard sizes of banners.
There is a lot various dimensions and it makes no sense to make variants for each campaign in all dimensions. There is Universal Ad Package which consists of a set of standardized ad sizes. Advertisers are recommending banners in these sizes, and media on its pages have to offer at least one location with one of the sizes in order to accept any campaign without special requirements.
The mentioned dimensions are, of course, expressed in pixels (dots on the screen) and refer to a fixed space that takes up the banner on the page. However, often banners leave that area, there is always, either by activation, which can be clicked, or (more often) activate by mouse over effect. In this case we are talking about-to-open banners, which are most often spread down (if you are at the top of the page) or left (if you are on the right side) and cover the content until animation finish or while a visitor is turn it off. Turn off button (return to base dimension) in practice is mandatory in these banners.
Step forward are floating banners, which can be virtually at any size as they appear over the content page, blocking the view of content. These ads are also the most expensive because most directly attract the attention of visitors, but also visitors do not like them and they are the reason for blocking ads or cancellation of visits to the site. In practice can be visually very effective; often they are partially transparent so they can receive any form (circle, heart, car …), and as with the aforementioned, it is obliged to put turn off button. Marketers prefer this type of ad because supposedly has the best results (eg, clicks), but the real question is how many visitors particulary portal lost due to (too) large number of such ads, is it really every click on the banner intentional, or a visitor clicked at it accidentally, trying to turn it off in addition to read the content that is under its transparency. (Not to mention the situations when something goes wrong, you see the ads, and invisible layer over the content completely blocks the possibility of using the site.)
Classic banners, opening and floating, are the most common occurrence of ads, although we are often witnesses to other interesting ideas. Often we come across that instead of pages with specific content page it opens page with the ad, and only after its completion or interruption of a manual (key words skip to content) shows the right page. Ads at the edge or in the corner of the page, which with the occasional animation attracts visitors to withdraw any leverage, a sheet of paper or the like are also interesting.
The special hit lately is connecting banners with background pages. In fact, most of the website has a solid color or at least a uniform background that fills space when the browser window is bigger (wider) than the page itself. This, on larger screens, which are more common now, unused space is an excellent place for placing promotional messages – very noticeable (which is why advertisers love it), does not interfere with the content of the page itself (which is why visitors love it) and fills a large space (which love creative people). We would say – an ideal advertising space.
