Just a few days after officially introduced, the new Meizu MX5, the company’s top smartphone went on sale in many web shops, including the GeekBuying.
Meizu MX5 is really excellent device. The device has a nice “unibody” metal casing that is slim, stylish and ergonomically built to be very comfortable in the hand. Talking of dimensions, 149.9 x 74.7 x 7.6 mm and weighs only 149 grams. Otherwise, comes in black or white and champagne color.
The screen is a large 5.5 inch Super AMOLED HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 dots (401 ppi). The screen is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and has a brightness of 350 nits and contrast ratio 10,000: 1. This is definitely one of the best screens you’ll find on the market.

The front is a 5 MP with aperture of f / 2.0, which means it will make a great selfie and other photos in poorly lit environments also, and supports FotoNation 2.0 system for “beauty” in real time. The back camera has 20.7 MP with 2-ton LED flash, lens in six parts (6P), laser auto-focus (focus for 0.2 seconds), aperture of f / 2.2, further optimized white balance and special focus system that provides a softer, more natural images. The camera can record 4K video using the H.265 codec, and can record and “slow motion” video in 720p @ 100fps.
Another interesting story is a new generation of fingerprint readers (Fingerprint ID sensor) that supports mTouch 2.0 technology, which will read as much as 81% more data from fingers rather than the previous reader. The battery is 3150 mAh and supports fast charge (Fast Charging Technology) – 25% will be charged in 10 minutes, and 60% for 40 minutes.
Otherwise Meizu MX5 supports Dual SIM (Dual Nano SIM), as well as 2G / 3G / 4G network (2G GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz 3G WCDMA 850/900/1900 / 2100MHz, 4G LTE FDD-1800/2100 / 2600MHz ).
