Business cards are centuries old. They are not yet extinct even though we live in the digital age. We reveal some interesting facts about these little cards that you may not know.

Before the smart phones and the Internet the primary means of social interaction were business cards. In China, they are starting to be used in the 15th century, while in France, became popular during the reign of Louis XIV.

Early forms of the beginning of the card for business purposes were recorded in the 17th century. They are mainly used for advertising. Then, as the cards which directed to the public various London shops because there was no formal street numbering at that time. Main boom of cards for business purposes was produced in the 19th century by commercialization of a standard printing press. Business cards were survived until the present day no matter what solutions deliver social media and mobile applications.

In Europe and the United States exchange of business cards is informal. Does not require special ceremony as is the case in Asian countries. In Japan, business cards must be given and received with both hands. In Korea, upon receipt of a business card is necessary to nod as a sign of respect and gratitude. In China, business cards are printed in golden color because they believe it is a happy color. Also in Islamic countries is meant to exchange business cards during business meetings.
