Remember your parent’s advice either to become a doctor or to marry one? A poll of attitudes to different professions proves that medical professionals and military officers still enjoy the highest prestige in the US.
88 percent of American adults believe the doctor profession has great deal of prestige in general. Military officers are also held in high regard across the United States, with 78 percent of people finding the profession prestigious. About 76 percent of people put also firefighter and scientist in the top category.
Of the professions included in the poll, teacher and architect are the least admired, followed closely by priest/minister. Maybe you should think twice before taking any of these home to meet your parents.
